Today, there is more emphasis either on repertoire from famous composers or on modern forms of music. Because of this, sometimes it is extremely difficult to find someone who is willing to teach gospel music. It is my desire to teach the beauty of gospel music in addition to masterful selections from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and 20th Century periods. Additionally, my students are highly encouraged to participate in exciting events offered by the local Music Teacher's National Association. Theory tests, recitals, festivals, and scholarship contests are among these available events.
I accept students of various ages: from 7 and up. Although I am willing to teach a wide span of ages, I especially have a love for children. I believe in encouraging them in their music, and in urging them to use what they have learned to glorify the Lord and to bless others. It does not discourage me to see little hands that have never touched a piano... On the contrary! I know if that child will be diligent in their study they will make lovely music in the future. Time, diligence, and study rewards in musical depth and beauty!
